Help me please identify grandfather's watch

    Received this watch as a family heirloom. It would be great to understand what
    caliber this is and the series.

    If you can give us the serial number on the movement we can say it exactly.

    I think it is the famous cal. 83 of which the production ceased after WW II.

    Thank you for help. How can I find the serial number of the movement? Isn't
    that the number stamped on the inside of back case on the photo?

    The serial movement and the case number are different.

    The serial number is on the edge of the movement and if I see it well it is :
    1049724.

    I also think to see : cal. 83 at a different place.

    If the serial number is indeed 1049724 , you have a cal.83 from 1942.
