    Hi All

My apology on the earlier "blank" post. Its my 1st post and that was an accident.

I am a newbie and I just got myself a Pilot Chrono, something which I have always wanted for awhile now and I was just over-the-top when I bought it!
The happiness didn’t last too long (just a couple of hours) when I noticed there’s a tiny scratch / dent on the bezel at the 51th minute marker. Whether this scratch is a result of my own doings or was already there when I bought it is another story all together.

I have attached 3 pics below (hopefully it works). My questions are can this scratch be fixed? Will it cost me an arm and a leg to repair it?

Frankly I have been quite upset and affected by this scratch, sort of a tiny blip on my otherwise perfect dream watch. Appreciate any feedback on this guys.

    Hi,

Recently scratched my Pilot. Can somebody share if this scratch could be repaired to perfection? And will it cost me an arm and a leg? I presumed I should send it back to IWC without a doubt right.

Almost anything can be fixed :) ..

Here's my view on it... Chances are, you are going to get a ding/scratch on it somewhat soon, so, I wouldn't lose much sleep over it. If you plan on keeping this watch for the long haul, have IWC fix it when you send it in for service in around 5 years..

It adds a bit of character :)

Whalesith --whew! I fixed your posts...it took me about 15 minutes of editing.

If you're having a problem, rather than write several posts --which I needed to delete, plus the replies-- please just e-mail me. I'm not constantly available, but I'll try to help. If it's not time sensitive, I can usually resolve a posting issue in about 24 hours.

Your problem iniotially was that you had two (img)(IMG) codes (changing the parens to brackets to actually use) before the image URL. You then posted with a link to the the host website, followed by the image URL, and that got blocked by an automatic Spam filter. Plus the images then were to the small previews images.

It's all fixed now. Hopefully you get some helpful replies. Feel free to ask for help in the future off-line.

Problems like this used to get me really upset. I understand your concern. But the service unit will eventually make it look brand new.
But unless it really bothers you, I would wait until you need real service and then get it repaired. By then there will be other marks to fix as well.
If you wear your watches, scratches, dings and swirls are the inevitable result. Just go with the flow. Your watch has been initiated.

Alan, couldn't agree more about this issue, but as you know it's always painful to get that first ding on your watch or in the door of your new car.

Welcome to the world of IWC.

I'm afraid it's a fact of life that using something will leave telltale signs behind. The occasion mark is a sign that something is actually being used and serving its purpose out in the world.

It can be especially disheartening when the first mark shows up so soon. But it is almost certain to happen. So in your place, I'd just continue to wear and enjoy the watch.

As Slashd0t and Allen mention, when you have the watched serviced in five or so years, these little blemishes can be taken care of.

By the way, that's a fine watch.

Would like to thank everyone here for their words of wisdom. Its truly comforting and I shall brave the world with my watch from now on and see where it takes me.
