    Hello,
I was down at my local vintage watch dealer today, and looked at a couple of pieces. This 1940's 30mm cal. 83 struck my eye. It's in good condition with light patina. I just wanted to confirm that it seems legit - i didn't want to take a large amount of pictures of the watch (store owner is a quite old-school) The dial says 'International Watch Co schaffhausen' and 'Anti-Magnetic'
The movement looked good / original. It's cleaned/serviced by him, with a one year warranty.
So, does it seem alright from my (bad) picture and what should i pay?
    Thanks!

    Hello Alexsimic,
The information you provide is too limited to give a decent answer.
    We need :
    1. More photo's of the dial, case and movement.
    2. movement number
    3.case number
    4. Much information can be retrieved by searching the archives : "date your IWC"
5.Prices of watches are normally not discussed but for vintage pieces an exception can be made.
    Kind regards,
    Adrian,

    Hello again,
I got a couple of pictures of the watch today, as well as a movement number, which dates it to 1936.
Can you get any more information out of it? I don't need a very specific price, but just a guideline.
    Thanks!

    Hallo Alexsimic,
Unfortunately you did not add many data.
We do not see the movement nor the inside of the case.
The dial of this watch seems genuine to me (patina and logo) although the configuration of the indices is rare for a caliber 83. However, I found on the internet one similar dial, which is of course no proof that the dial is original for caliber 83. The crown is very large for a cal. 83 watch.
Cal. 83 was by no means rare : 66.000 have been made.
There are very expensive IWC cal. 83 watches : the unfindable so called Mark IX "Spezialuhr für Flieger" and the W.W.W IWC. However an "ordinary" cal 83 is not very sought after by collectors.
My estimation would be 400-600 Euro, that is if the watch is in good condition.
    Kind regards,
    Adrian,
    (alwaysiwc).

Hi all. I'm new to these beautiful IWC Anti-Magnet watches, and I just have to say I'm smitten. Love absolutely everything about them. Would love to learn more about them, and possibly acquire one some day. Great watch.

    Cheers

    Mike
