Honest Feedback about Cal. 83 Purchase

Hi,

I am new to the world of vintages watches, and I was curious on your thoughts
about the condition of the dial below?

My one area of concern is the minute markers of this watch. Googling around,
similar watches to this model (Link), appear to have appplied minute
markers in Gold. Upon further inspection, I can't tell whether those markers
are a) missing and repainted, or b) intact and have faded to black
over time. I also think the crown is not original to this watch, but overall,
the watch appears to be authentic.

Does anyone also know the reference number of this model? Thank you guys so

Not all Cal 83 dials had the applied markers. Some were drilled and others
were painted.

The watch you show appears to have painted indeces. I can't see the crown in
enough detail to comment.

Or, the dial has been repainted, The detail of the dial is of insufficient
quality to be certain though.

Thank you! In any event, this is a beautiful watch, and I definitely caught
the IWC bug.

In my humble opinion the indices on the dial shown, are not painted but
applied.

The crown is small but 80 years ago the crowns on cal. 83 were predominantly
small.

If you think of repainted dials and replaced crowns you should realise that
this watch is not worthwhile to "fake".

Only the excessive value of a cal.83 "Uhr fur Flieger" ( Mark IX) was
interesting to copy or fasify that watch.

As the value of most cal. 83 is between 500-1000 euro, they are not
interesting objects for dishonest money makers.
