    Hi! I got this watch from my grandfather. I think it is from the 1945-1948
    range. Could be older or newer. and i think its cal.88. Thats about it.

    I cannot find a picture anywhere with that exact case and gold dial,hands.
    etc.

    The only thing i have concluded 100% is that the bracelet is from malaysia and
    is in no way original.

    Any help would be much appreciated :)

    Your watch is cal 88, dating from 1947, according to the IWC ledger.

    It has an Inca block shock absorber.

    Lovely Cal 88 which is showing it's age beautifully!

    And it is a family heirloom which makes it all that more special.

    According to the serial numbers, the movement was manufactured in 1947 and
    cased around 1948.

    They did have Reference numbers ....

    At this time this may or not be engraved
    in the caseback.

    Without the engraving, it would need to be identified from a period catalogue,
    but dial and hand style variances make it confusing.

    It will suffice to call it Cal 88
