Congratulations. Wear it in good health
Philippe, this watch (or should I say the stainless version of it) was one of my latter watches to join my collection late last year.
It's a fantastic watch - made more special by the fact you have it in Gold which clearly works for you! LOOKS SUPER!
Wear it in good health and keep the posts coming.
Best regards
Mark
Congratulations for your beautiful acquisition.
Congrats what an nice pickup! Oh, and your fathers fits perfect!
Fantastic, congrats on a wonderful purchase. And may I add that your Father's watch is simply stunning...
Alan
Thank you all for the kind words, in fact I had to reduce my "collection" for this watch but in the end my IWC dream came true! Best regards!
no words... simply beautiful and ageless...
Congratulations!
Congrats on the watch! I, myself, also have the Portuguese Auto 5001-07 and your rose one is so stunning!
Question on the 4th photo from your orig post, what are the 2 little holes for? Are they for adjustment?
@ Toma: I don't know what two holes you mean,
by the way, here one more pic of the jubilée:

... and to be able to share your joy of your new iwc with your father. that is truly priceless!
Congratulations, very nice and elegant ! But love the Jubilee best...;-)

It's a beauty, I can see why Gollum liked his ring, Precious.
This one is on my short list if only I can justify it.
Kind regards,
Paul.
A lovely watch and one on my short list. May I ask how many turns does it take to wind up the watch from an unwound state? Or how many winds does it take to go from one day to the next on the power reserve indicator? This should answer my question.
As your dad has done for you, I hope to do the same for my son.
Kind regards,
Paul.
Paul about 40 turns winds the watch to near full, wearing the watch does the rest! The RG model has got to be one of the best looking in the Portuguese range as they started their existence with a nice and simple looking dial uncluttered by chronos or tourbillons or calendar. Granted its gained PR and date!
Thanks for the info Greg, can you please tell me PR means. I assume that it refers to the second hand indicator. Though the abbreviation alludes me.
Kind regards,
Paul.
PR = power reserve which on the Portugues auto, 7 day Perpetuals and the Big Pilot is at 3. Looks as if the learning graph is steep but with your history in the RAAF you will pick the jargon and techie stuff up quickly.
