    Hi

I just inherited and am now the proud owner of this gorgeous IWC Turler watch. I think that it is from the 1970's but that is all I know about it.

I would be so grateful if somebody could help me to find out a little more about it.

I will also have to get it serviced as it is a wind up watch and stops after a few hours. I don't want to damage it.

Hope you can help me find out a little more about it (and should I get it insured?)

    Many thanks

    Gary

You have inherited a beautiful watch complete with box and a wonderful memory.

Your watch is either a Cal 89 or more likely a Cal 403 from early 70s.
Without seeing the movement I can't tel You which one. The reference will be stamped on the inside caseback. These are remarcably reliable and robust movements and will certainly benefit from a COR (Clean Oil Regulate) service.
You could send it to IWC AD for this or a watchmaker experienced with these movements.

For more information on TURLER, tap the MADNIFYING GLASS on the top right corner and launch a search from there.

The watch has a reference or model number of 2403 as shown in the 1972 catalogue. I'm fairly sure it has a calibre 403 movement.

Good to see it with its original packaging.

    Dear Mark and Cellar

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell my about my watch.

I am absolutely thrilled to know a little bit more about it.

It will be treasured and I will certainly make sure it gets a COR services as it works but stops after a few hours and I don't want to to damage any of the mechanisms.

Armed with the bit of information I have now, I can do some research to find out even more about the watch.

Thank you again. It means a lot to me.

    Kind regards

    Gary
