    movement have a very similar layout to the Unitas 6498. Is there a connection?

    I think they look eeriely similar...

    barrel location, wheel location, balance cock location, those four prominent rubies.

    there's no relationship....

    Keep in mind that the basic layout of pocket watch movements probably falls within a few basic categories --all movements work the same.

    Not really...

    Ralph Ehrismann is, Fritz Wagener was. There are a fewb others too. I just collect them and know enough to be dangerous.
