I'm very new to this community! My fiance has given me a Portofino Automatic MoonPhase 37 and I have no idea on maintaining this beautiful timepiece!

He would always help me wind my watch but I wanted to learn how to take care of it myself. :) I just wear it once or twice a week and would like to check how do I keep my watch working after keeping it for 1 week? and any recommendations on watch cleaner? Thank you so much!!!

P.S: Sharing this beautiful piece! :)

Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your new Portofino.
May I suggest you study the manual that came with the watch to explain the workings, setting and care of your watch.
Do not use any watch cleaner, just a damp cotton cloth to clean it.

Enjoy your watch and wear it frequently, is the best advice I can give you.

Your fiancé chose such a beautiful watch. It looks fabulous on your wrist. Enjoy it with good health and happiness.

Along with Mark's safe and sound maintenance suggestions,  a gem set bezel occasionally may want to be spruced up. A very soft toothbrush,  a tad of  liquid dish soap in warm water and a light brushing will help restore the sparkle. Your watch has a water resistance of 3 bars which should handle the light moisture you will expose it to. Applying a " tender touch " to any cleaning action is the key for your special watch. Should the user guide not address cleaning of precious stone models, you can always contact IWC for their guidance or a quality jeweler who is experienced in gem set watches.

Congrats on your exquisite watch, you wear it well !

    Cheers,

    Andy

    An additional note:
Please ensure that the crown is in the closed position ie pressed in, before any cleaning operations
