I am looking to buy a portuguese chrono but cant decide between these 2 colour dials... either black or white. I really love this watch... even though entry portuguese. 1 other watch is what I am also considering, spitfire chrono with brown alligator strap, but I am definitely getting 1 of these 3. Hope pics appear(tried to upload them)
    Pls offer any advice.
    Cheers

I want to buy portuguese chrono but cant decide

The Port Chrono does not have luminous hands or other means of reading the time after dusk. Therefore I have and am happy with the white dial and gold hands for both the Port Chrone and Port Auto. That's my choice but......you may have a different choice. Blest of luck either way you go.

    Get the black one..

That way, when you but the Spitfire Chrono later, you will have a black dial and a white dial watch :-)

When I had to decide between the white dial and black dial Portuguese Automatic, I looked at the other watches I alread had and they all had dark dials so that's why the choice was a bit easier...

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Your choice, what's it going to be? (nt)

to me, it depends on other watches and lifestyle..

Personally, I think the Portuguese chrono is a slightly dress chrono. If you have or might buy a sportier watch in the future, then I would think you should get the white dial Portuguese. That way, you could get a black dial Pilot's watch or a black (or blue) dial Aquatimer for the second, sportier watch.

On the other hand, if this will be your one and only great watch, I'd probably suggest the black dial. While you could "dress up or down" either dialed watch, the black may be a shade more versatile for both dressy and casual.

Personally, I like the white dialed model here best. But you can't go wrong with either and to me the question needs a broader context to be answered.

    Good luck,
    Michael

Portuguese watches with white (or silver) dials

My personal tast with Portuguese watches are the silver (white) dials. I used to have the 3714 with gold hands and later traded in for the 500107 silver dial - blue hands and numbers version. Maybe that's a combination to consider as well.
The silver dials are better contrasting in low light conditions.

Good luck anyway, either choice is great. My advice: try them on both and let your emotions speak.
