    Hello Everyone,

I've been fortunate to acquire a collection of unusual vintage IWC pieces
including a Disco-Volante model I shared the other week.

A favourite piece from the collection is the below model, which to me looks
like a Portuguese - almost a 35mm version of the famous ref. 325?

It features a stainless steel case with notched screw-in back, two tone dial,
raised gold numerals and gold leaf hands - the perfect combination!

I've struggled to find other examples of this model online, especially with
    "waterproof" type cases.

Any information that can be shared, model reference, production numbers or
    general knowledge are all appreciated!

    Hi Jordan,

what a beautiful example of a classic Cal. 83 Watch from the 1940s.

Your movement is a Calibre 83 that was produced in 1942. In total 68400 pcs of
this movement where produced between 1930 and 1947. 10800 (the later ones) are
equipped with a shock protection device, mostly incablock, which is not on
your movement. Cal. 83 is 26.5 mm in diameter, 4.1 mm height, comes with 15 or
16 jewels and comes witha breguet overcoil hairspring.

What is especially nice is the screwdown caseback of your example.

    Good catch i would say.
