can you open it and share the numbers on the case and movement ? That would help

there is a lovley engraving on the back of that watch. It gives it a very special personal touch.
Most probably you will find a calibre 62 inside the golden watch case. I guess it was made in the 1940s.
Very nice watch, the square case makes it wear bigger than the small dimension it measures.
As Tonny mentioned, we would need a picture of the inside of the case back as well as of the movement to tell you more.
I am pretty sure the dial has been repainted.
It suits my taste in vintage watches exactly.

If my memory serves me right, my grandfather purchased it after WW2 and lost it within a few years ago. My dad found in 1970 when packing for college, got it engraved, and gave it to him for Christmas.
My grandfather was in the 82nd airborne and jumped into Normandy. He also me a German girl while overseas who became his wife. In her family tradition, Christmas was celebrated Christmas Eve which is why the date is the 24th and not the 25th.
