Since upgrading my iMac to Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4, I am having terrible difficulty signing into the IWC Forum website. I use Safari Version 6.0. I can access the website fine the problem starts when I try to sign in, as it just causes Safari to freeze on me, if I go away and leave it for 10 minutes it eventually signs in but this is very frustrating.

I have also tried using Firefox too but this simply doesn't work at all.

Is anyone else encountering this problem?

The Same issue with SAFARY, but FIREFOX works.

Interesting. I have this problem on a windows 7 PC but with Firefox. The program freezes when I try to sign in. No problems with IE. Have removed all the coockies ans history, but problem remains. Surfing the site with Firefox without signing in is no problem.

    Hi Shane,

Interesting, I only access the forum on Chrome on OSX 10.7.4 and have no issues that said, it uses the same webkit rendering engine as firefox (and safari I think) so should be the same - I did just try safari though and get the same issue...

    Back to chrome.

    Cheers,

    Ben

I use Safari on a Mac with Snow leopard at home and it is a smooth ride.
No issues with random PC with various versions of Windows either.
    Sorry, no easy solution here.

    Shane try this method.
I usually go to a thread and click on 'comment' and it will prompt you to sign in. I realize that signing in this way is much faster and it doesn't hang.

It should work. Otherwise give me a yell on email or viber.

WOW, works for me too... Thanks for this "work around"!

Very interesting workaround. I have problems signing in on the iPad and iPhone. On the iPhone I don't even bother to sign in anymore. I will try the workaround on the iPad and let you know if this works.

On the PC, I use Internet Explorer for the IWC site, it seems to work better than Firefox but it has been a while that I tried the IWC site in Firefox and there have already been numerous updates on Firefox so maybe it works better now.

The advantage of using Internet Explorer exclusively for the IWC site (and the IWC Workbook site from Stefan) is that I have set the IWC forum as my start page :-)

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Yes, same problem(s) on my iMac and MBP. An additional frustration, occasionally when I do sign in nothing happens and I can't access the Forum I try to sign in again and the site tells my I am already signed in. I still don't have access to the Forum. If I close out Safari and reboot, it comes back on correctly. I have cleaned out my cache, deleted by key chain access, deleted IWC cookies, and started over, but the issues still crop up.

I wish too they would fix the preview button. It still is not functioning.

Hmm, I just found out that on the iPad I can't access the logout button :-)

Now I just have to wait untill I get logged out, this happens occasionally.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

I never log out. Generally, if you click the stay logged in button on sign in you are good for a few weeks.
Both my iPhone and iPad work the same. When I sign in, the device freezes for between 30-60 seconds. But I just wait. Eventually the sign in goes through and I am good for another two weeks. It does this every time.

    Same with me !

I installed Google Chrome ONLY to use with IWC when logged in !

I use a standard Dell laptop, with standard Windows 7 and standard Internet Explorer and have no problems at all, anywhere. Why try something exotic?

    Kind regards,

    Hi Paul,

The iPad is very easy to use and much lighter than a laptop. It doesn't heat as much as a laptop too. There are some inconveniences but in general it works great for regular internet- and forum usage.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Hi Everyone!

I've been having this exact problem with my Mac for over a week now. I was very busy with work so I didn't get around trying the alternatives, but finally today it just worked!

    Funny...

    Cheers!

Cool. Thought it was just me. For the last 2 months I've had some issues logging in from iPad and iPhone - so I had been forced into just a "lurker" able to read but not post or comment.

I finally just let the sign-on go for 5 minutes and it worked for me.

With my old MacBook, I was having trouble logging on to the Forum using Firefox. Safari worked fine.

I've since gotten a new MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion (OX10.8.1) and have had no problems.
