Try as I might, I could not capture the brown dial on the St. Exupery. One can only see a glimpse of the brown on this picture, unfortunately. I have to try something different. The Laureus blue is a cinch vs. this dial. : ).

The lume shot was just a bonus. The hands and markers charged as I was taking hundreds of shots.

    Outstanding!...

It looks brown to me! I think your photo captures the dial color better than most shots I've seen posted.

    Best regards,
    Jim

I eked out a bit more brown ... getting closer...

but the dial is much more dramatic than this. I have a challenge to overcome.

I am not going to compete with you, Bill ,-)

I am always impressed by your images! This time your challenge is one that I faced, too. Therefore I am presenting my results here.

I tried the brown dial with bright direct sunlight coming from the side (to avoid reflections). This reveals brown but also creates harsh shadows.

Perhaps direct sunlight from one side combined with some flash from the opposite side to fight the shadows is a solution?

Looking forward to your next postings
    Andreas

    Great shots Bill!

And looking at the power reserve, it wasn't just the lume that got charged here!

By the way, in my opinion the brown can be caught best in the light of the setting sun, at least that works for me.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Another try today...better but>>>>

damn this is hard. Getting the whole dial to luminesce brown is a tricky lighting situation.
