Dear friends collectors, with great sadness I got the message that our friend
and collector Ralph Edmondson passed away last Monday, peacefully, surrounded
    by his family.

I believe that I can speak for all of us here that we will miss this every
inch a gentleman, his passion for life, for his family, for IWC and friends.

We all knew Ralph was struggling with health issues and we were very happy
that he could attend last W&W in Geneva,

Ralph was also a pocketwatch collector with some amazing pieces. Some time
ago, he talked me about one that he had in his collection , a pocketwatch that
I was looking for allready maybe for 10 years and never found one for sale.
He then said, Tonny, I know you want this one in your collection, you are the
first one that I give the chance to have it in your collection. So it
happened. I never posted that one on the forum but will do it in his honor,
that watch will stay with me and will allways remind me of his friendship

I am sure all his friends will post nice pictures and great memories of Rave
    here.

    RIP Rave.

My sincerest condolences to Ralph's family and this entire community here who
love him. This news hits me very hard. I have very fond memories of Ralph
and enjoyed many late evenings in New York, London, Geneva, and Schaffhausen
where he was the life of the party. I have fondly relived many of these
memories this morning with this news, going through posts, photos, and recent
texts with him - I am still in disbelief. Just a few months ago, I met up
with Ralph in London for a very memorable Friday evening of drinks, music,
watches, dinner, drinks - he kept me out way past my
    bedtime....

Dear Sir Ralph, thank you for your friendship, your knowledge, your brilliant
British humor, your thoughtfulness, your cameraderie, your whisky, your
watches - and for sharing it all with us over the years. I am honored to have
known you, and to have shared part of your pain lately - rest in peace my
friend, knowing that your wife and sons will make sure you live forever. We
will make sure you live forever here as well, in your other "family" - the
    IWC family.

    Rock on Sir!

Ralph and Maureen hosted Ms. D and me when we visited London. Having never
met us, Ralph picked us up and took us on a tour around the region. We were
invited to their home and made to feel as honored guests. On a trip to
Zimbabwe, Dorothy had a long layover at Heathrow. Ralph and Ms. E picked her
up, took her home and provided her with a place to rest and refresh. We were
able to return the kindness by hosting the Edmondson's during their trip to
Texas. Ralph was a true friend and my image of an English gentleman...in the
best sense of the descriptor. He will be sorely missed by this community and
by Dorothy and me. Rest In Peace my friend. We send our prayers and
heartfelt condolences to Maureen and the Edmondson
    family!

Ralph and Andrew Thomas were the first two I met at a lunchtime gtg in London,
sharing the passion for IWC and watches in general. He was a fountain of
knowledge and always helpful. Sadly because of Covid and health I have not
seen him for far too long. I will miss him greatly, I will miss our chats his
knowledge and our exchange of views on numerous subjects. I ask for the
umpteenth time in my life, why are there such nasty diseases in this world?

My sincere condolences to Maureen and their sons, James and Laurence

No trip to London is complete without being greeted by, and having a get
together with The Fine Gentlemen of London and Chairman Ralph!

I will miss our discussions on Architecture and Horology.

We mourn the loss of a true gentleman, a towering spirit and presence within
    the IWC collector's community.

    Tragic tragic news

For all who met Ralph and the charming Maureen the loss stings greatly. I
have had the pleasure of having them at my home for visits a couple of times,
and traveled with them and other friends on a river cruise. Nothing can be
said negative about Ralph, and I'm proud and humbled to have known such a fine
    person and gentleman.

I am extremely saddened by the tragic loss of such an esteemed collector and
friend. One of the forumers I met in person, I always loooked forward to
seeing Ralph again. I have been most fortunate to have been able to meet with
him, along wit other collectors, in Geneva several times and will miss him
dearly. Thank you Ralph for the fantastic times and wonderful memories, you
are a true gentleman with a golden heart.

Like everyone else who knew Sir Ralph, it's deeply saddening to learn of his
passing. I am still shaken by the news. He was my freind and mentor. His
wicked sense of humor and British sarcasim always kept me in stitches. RIP
Sir Ralph. I am posting a dropbo link here to a bunch of photos of our freind.
There is no speicail order to them. They are from events at SIHH, BBAMSGTGs,
SH Collectors' Meetings, visits to NYC, etc. I hope the link works.

An outstanding man, collector , world traveller.

Such a true gentleman and ambassador of IWC.

Like Tonny, I own a few pocket watches that he found and cherished.

And it was a comfort and pleasure for Ralph that he could please fellow
collectors by passing to them some of his treasures when he understood that he
    could not win the battle.

A privilige to have known Sir Ralph Edmondson.

    Dear Tonny and friends,

So very sad to read this today. Ralph was a true gentleman. Sharp, witty and
always with a cheeky glint in his eye. It was great to see him in Geneva at
W&W - he will be missed.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Dominic
