Assuming this is allowed of course.
I am currently trying to decide between a 5002 slow beat and a 5009. The 5009 is new. Both are similarly priced. The 5002 is recently back from service...complete service, crown replaced and second hand replaced. Actual receipt/document was sent to me. I have some videos I would like to share with someone off line.
If anyone has experience with both and is willing to talk to me offline I would appreciate it. My email is jpmason08@gmail.com
Thank you!
Both BPs you are considering are worthy additions to your collection. I happen to be a 5002 fan althouh I also have a more modern movement in the DFB. Many on this forum are 5002 fans. It is iconic in IWC lore. Mine is a slow beat as well and was one of the first one released to the market when introduced. At some point in went in for service and the origianl fish crown was replaced by the IWC Probus crown. Recenlty I had the good fortune tho have a fish crown reinstalled to bring it back to its original state.
If you zero in on the second hand you can count the 5 beats per second, or the slow beat.

Here is my 5002 back from having the fish crown reinstalled. The other two crowns are the orginal one and the Probus crown that had been substituted when serviced.

This is my other BP, which I love as well, the DFB BP.

Having said this, I would go for the 5002. It is rarer and iconic. You can always go back and get the 5009 version at a later time or simulaneously.
