    Hello, all,
I have worn my Ingy since I bought it in 1995,and it has barely been off my wrist apart from servicing. Last month, however, I discovered that one lug on the clasp had broken.
I attempted to buy a replacement clasp through IWC, but it has taken until today to be told that no replacements are available and it will have to be returned to Schaffhausen for evaluation and a quotation. Has anyone else had a similar problem and got any idea of the likely cost of repair?
I can only assume that a current clasp will be altered to fit the original bracelet. Are there any other posssibilities, like is it possible to braze the lug back on?
    Thanks,
    Brent

Several years ago my GST clasp broke in the same place as yours. I bought a replacement clasp.
I then found a jeweler who laser welded the end together, now I keep it as a spare.

    Mark,
that's a great suggestion - I had no idea that such a device existed - I have friends in sheet metal and car repair businesses who can weld, but obviously their work is heavy duty.

Update - after finding a jeweller online offering laser repairs, I exchanged emails, then visited them today.
Five minutes later, the clasp was repaired, and at no charge. What a service !
Many thanks to the forum and in particular Mark for the suggestion.
