Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I'm currently looking into purchasing a 3725 chronograph in steel with steel strap. Does anyone know if the clasp found on newer models, with microadjust, can be fitted onto the original strap? When I look at photos it looks possible, but I thought I'd make sure first.

    Yazanigd,

I think you and the original poster are talking about two different things.

I guess he is asking if this bracelet would fit the 3227:

now pay very close attention to where the push-pin mechanism releases the bracelet... it is ON the link of the bracelet.

    Now, look at the 3227:

Note where the push-pin mechanism is located? on the case of the watch!

now, please explain to me how would the above bracelet fit the 3227?

I see that you are showing to him that a deployant buckle can be used with the 3227... but the original post was asking about the latest bracelet with a micro-length-adjustment clasp.

True Abso, i thought the question was about having the deployement buckle installed on a leather strap, my bad, but thank you anyways for your clarification

Thanks for the input guys. I've learned that I cannot put a newer strap on the 3725. However that was not quite what I was asking. I'll use an example to explain: Some Omega owners are purchasing the Omega micro adjust clasp (just the clasp which goes for about $200) and putting it onto older steel straps. It seems to work on some but not all. So can I purchase just the IWC clasp (with micro adjust) and attach onto the 3725 strap? (So the original 3725 clasp goes in a drawer)

I am quite sure that it would work.
However, would you have the possibility to visit a Boutique or an AD? They could do the test for you and try to put one of the existing clasps with microadjustment on your bracelet. This would give you the definitive answer.

On another note: I am not sure if it is possible at all to buy just the clasp (without bracelet).

You have to ask the IWC service department. Best is to write an E-Mail to info@iwc.com with your request described in detail. It will be routed where it has to be.
That said I suggest wearing the original bracelet. There are half links too. But I must say the micro adjustment clasp really is super. I enjoy wearing mine. Just scratches very easily.

Wow! you know what... I couldn't believe it myself, but it actually worked.

I happened to have my 3725 and 3796 readily available with me...

Doesn't hurt to just give it a try... removing the links of the bracelets...

Could you believe it? the links fit perfectly. In fact, the smaller links are probably the same (IWC probably reuses those 10+ year-old links!)
I bet you couldn't even tell which link belongs to which now that I have the two connected together...

What can I say... I am simply speechless.

    Only for you, Lethabcan.

    Hi Kelvin,
that's about a clear of an answer as I could have imagined, thanks!
Hey, if anyone knows the part number for that clasp by itself, that'd be great!
    Cheers.
