Thank you Alexander for this essay on the history of Ingenieur watches. It was a pleasure to read it and I'm happily looking forward of the novelties next week in Genève.

    Kind regards, Daniel

    Great summary of this legend.

And even a pic of my favourite, the blue 866, I never get tired of that one.

IWC’s Pilot’s Watches, then, were the direct predecessors of the Ingenieur, which was finally launched in 1955.

    Great article, thanks Alexander :)

Even if I knew the inge was officially available in '55, isn't true ref. 666 was already announced in 1954?

Thanks for clarifying this to me.

    Michael-

Nice article (as always), and since I haven't been around in a while, I am completely bowled over the the new (to me) forum. Excellent work all around, thanks.

@Cliff --thanks, but the excellent article here was written by Aexander Linz.

@Roberto --despite some reports, I believe 1955 is correct.

Brilliant article with a concentrated overview of the development of the Ingenieur. My few samples are looking forward to next week. There might be hope for a collection update!

Soegaard, you're picture almost says it all for collectors. All you are missing is the Tressor (1832).

Thanks Alexander for a well-written piece.

    Best,
    Larry

Thanks Larry, I know I need a 1832! I do have the quartz version though ref. 3303.

Cliff, nice to see you back again!

Thanks. According to my account, I was last here in Feb. 2008! Doesn't seem like it's been five years.

Hope you are doing well, look forward to speaking to you again.
