    I inherited a watch from my father which I believe belonged to his
    grandfather, after some looking I figured put how to open it and found the
    serial numbers on the case and movement and am hoping someone can tell me
    about this watch. It's movement serial number is either 888457 or 838457, I
    had some trouble distinguishing the second digit. And the case serial number
    866085.

    Here is info from the DateYour IWC website for your pocket watch. It has to
    be this one as yours is a lepine pw.

    The other movement number is for a savonette which is not what you
    have.

    Indeed a beautiful cal 73. I love the fnger bridge calibers. These cal 73's
    often come, like yours, in very nice cases, some in pure Art Deco style.
