yes it happend to me...
I got an AT Ocean from an auction (posted it here a weeks ago too) but as it
turn out to be an 35 mm (!) and not the one I expected..
But alas no harm done, and no problem because I got it cheap, but my wife
didn't fancy it, so I put it online for sale..
someone was interested and wanted to buy it ....GREAT I thought..
but the buyer asked me before he would transferr the money if I could show him
the shipping sheet (as a garantee that I would ship the item to him). I went
to the postaloffice and filled in the forms and got the receit, wich I
photographed and then mailed to him....
then the shit hit the fan .....
he had trouble transferring the sum he said.. I said do not worry im still at
the postoffice I await the transaction, before I leave there...
you can guess the outcome... the postaloffice closed, and I asked for my
pakkage back.. but they said it was propperty of PTTPOST now and they could
not return it to me.
the buyer mailed that there was a server problem at his bank and would sort it
out (because he was a man of thrust and honour) reading that I knew the story
would not end well for me.. it was goning to take longer and finally he mailed
that he would sort it out and go to the bank to attend to it tomorrow. next
day some mails reached me like don't worry and he would transfer it (even send
my banknr to him, if that was easier). at last I send a mail to him:
youre not going to pay me for the IWC-watch I send you in good faith....are
you? and no reply since....
still waiting on the transfer two days later... I told my story to police and
PTTPOST (the transporter) and hopefully because I shipped it nsured and with
track and trace, they send it back (no harm done then, else that my watch
travelled the whole earth) if no one signs for the package...
but if not, I have lost the watch and had a hard lesson ....
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE..
