    Hello everyone,

as far as I am more than happy with my latest acquirement of a custom made leather strap for my Ingenieur 3227, I want to share it on the english forum as well. The strap was ordered in Spain, the buckle is original IWC. Looking forward to your comments.

    Best regards
    Christoph

I think it looks very nice. I have been eyeing the Big Inge as i like the option of having a leather strap and bracelet. thanks for posting the photos.

    Hi CEM,
Many thanks for bringing our attention to the Spanish made alligator strap for the Ref 3227. It is an excellent alternate for the steel bracelet. It is unfortunate IWC did not offered it as an alternative to the bracelet in the steel version.
I have been using the strap originally designed for the Titanium version, in my CFI when I need to lighten the load, or want change the look. I only use it sparingly though, because the synthetic material used in that strap "feels" too fragile for the weight of the steel case, perhaps because it was projected for the lighter weight of the Titanium case.

Though I personally prefer the bracelet on mine, I think it looks really great on the strap you bought. Very nice!

I actually prefer the look of the strap on this watch. But it is a matter of taste. As long as you are not swimming with it go with what you like.

Thank you all for your comments.

    @celpsydra:
I was thinking about the synthetic strap BECAUSE there was no leather version originally available... but then I found the tanner in Spain :-)

Does anyone know the different weights of the steel / titanium 3227 with / without bracelet? I just had a look in the collectors catalogue, but the weight is not mentioned there.

    Regards
    Christoph

    Hello Christoph,

Your Inge looks fantastic on the leather strap.

What is the buckle width (20 or 18mm)?

    regards,
    Frederik
