...and more, with the presentation for the Pilot line last eveing at the Hong Kong flagship.

The Mark XVII is not that big, light and confortable with the bracelet. Comparaing side by side with the MarkXVI the XVI almost look it's from another era.

The chrono also looks about right in scale to my not so big wrist.

I tried the Miramar chrono (and the BP) and it's a bit too big, may looks good on you with bigger arms and wrists. The glossy ceramic finish against the olive dial got a lot of character; the fabric strap feels pretty durable and but I heard it's not final yet. I think IWC's got guts to produce these two as a marketing direction as from my perspective they are bordering on high fashion (of course with great engineerings inside for those who know and care). Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of these as I was busy trying, chatting and sipping champagne.

Taking the time to try on a few others I like.

I always like the colour scheme of the Climate Action and nicely tetured white dial, just feel a little small after having the Mission Earth for some time.

Taking some for the Mrs. as I try to follow the one for you one for me principle recommended by fellow forummers, it makes things painfully slow but speed of course, is a matter of perspective depending on how affected you are by the virus.

Finally got around to try on the Portofino Auto with Milanese mesh - it almost feels like a piece of fabric. Very contemporary and cool, not too big to look sporty (can look small on you with bigger wrists).

The evening was highly enjoyable owing a lot to the great hospitability and atmosphere as usual.

    Kind regards,
    Pete

Thanks for showing us the photos, Q-la!

How come you did not take any photo with the new Spitfire chrono? it is my favorite among the new releases. Was it because the staff were wearing it pretty much the entire time? :-)

I was there last night pretty much throughout the event. Next time, please come up to say hi!

I don't think lots of us forummers have 'recommended' this policy per se - rather we're forced to do it to! Although I do like KevinJ's suggestion of sometimes buying the wife a new strap instead of a new watch "wow sweetheart, it's like a brand new watch!..." =P

    Thanks for the post,
    Thang

Very nice report, thank you. I like your comparison of the Mark XVII with the Mark XVI. First, I must say that the Mark XVII is a very nice looking watch, an intricate mixture of tool watch and class, some subdued power. The Mark XVI had that too, I wonder: is size all that matters when you speak of a different era? Seeing your picture I like to restate that the Mark XVII would make a perfect forum watch.

    Kind regards,
    Paul
