I recently acquired this IWC chronograph which I have sought for some time.

It is very late model as evidenced by its case number.

Here is where my question arises.

It looks like this started as a 3702-1 and they decide it is a 3702-2.  Is this original or is it a later mod.

The movement is a c7922 which "caliber corner" states was used in the 3704.  In the same article the date the 7922 to have been introduced in 1996 and in 1998.

The crown is recessed but not screwed down.

The bracelet is type 4 wit the "pd" logo.

Any explanation of all of this will be much appreciated.

The watch in receipt from the auction house is a pleasant surprise running with string amplitude good rates, still within IWC spec and passed a water resistance test.

Site will mnot support edits so two more questions:

    When was this watch new?

What was its retail price in the US market when new.

    Thanks for replies

I found a 1995 IWC Porsche catalog and price list with the following information:

    1) In 1995 they were showing teh 4th type of bracelet, while the 1993 showed the earlier version

    2) The catalog showed a C790 movement so teh C7912 was probably later making the c7922 intro in 1998.

    3) The US list price for a 3702 was $4995 as it was in 1993

    4) The listed water resistance was 60 meters

The watch they showed in one cut was captioned as a 3704 but the price list entry was for a 3702
