I'm being offered an IWC Pilot watch, but I am almost certain is a fake. Price is $1,000 and the current owner does not have the original box/papers. Everything looks suspicious, but if it is a genuine IWC, the price is a bargain.
What got me thinking is the watch has a couple pressure-release valves on the side of the crown, and the day reserve marker goes from 3 to 9, instead of 7-1, like other IWC watches I've seen. Your point of view would be greatly appreciated.i1282.photobucket.com/albums/a534/HSV13/10187267-1_zpsutg0yyph.jpgi1282.photobucket.com/albums/a534/HSV13/10187267-2_zpsmouvn3ft.jpgi1282.photobucket.com/albums/a534/HSV13/10187267-6_zpsu0yo3pwj.jpgi1282.photobucket.com/albums/a534/HSV13/10187267-5_zpsgxpaswic.jpg

They seem to be pressure-release valves.

Thank you for helping out. I will offer the seller 5% of what he's asking and then dissect the watch for you. We shall see what type of movement it has.

Not even close. A 95% price cuts would still be too much. I wonder if it actually keeps time?

It is about as genuine as a three-dollar bill. Also remember that if a price is too good to be true, it usually is.

Pressure release valves when the pilot ditches his Sopwith Camel into the Atlantic. It probably has water resistance of 5 cm.

couldn't be more fake if it fell out of a tree and struck you on the head. it's rubbish like this that we don't want to seen sold to unsuspecting watch buyers.you did the wise thing by contacting the forum. personally,i'd contact the authorities in your area, and alert them to the purveyor of this gross indecency.

Wow it is as fake as going to the black market in Shanghai where you see Gucci w/ the spelling Guci and Chanel with the spelling Channel.

    A fake.

Isn't the pusher on the side to adjust the annual calendar that is only visible if you open the case?
