Hi, I purchased the watch- Model 1813 -Case number 2.088.511- on the 26th April 1978. The warranty booklet has the model number listed as 1813 yet I am unable to find the model or movement listed anywhere. Could someone help with identifying the movement number and model of my watch.

History, purchased new from Hardy Brothers Brisbane Queensland Australia.
Serviced by Hardy Brothers and Le Gassick Qld.

    regards Wayne.

Hi Mark, Thank you for replying to my email, having trouble with the photo as it requires an URL. Not sure how to supply that information to complete the query.

WoW that is a stunning vintage IWC.
We have seen similar watches on the Forum, but you are correct. I am not able to find the watch in catalogues.

Here is an excellent resource from Greg Steer.
    www.gregsteer.net/IWC/Catalogues_1940s_onward/Catalogues_1940%27s_onward.html

    Neither 1972 nor 1974 show 1813, but 1810, 1811, 1812 and 814 are there.

    Curious........

Hi Mark, thanks for the reference, going by the photo below it appears to be a 2401 do you agree, and would you know the movement. Regards Wayne..

Thought you might be interested in this letter, and warranty information. I found a reference to a 2401 solid gold Portofino, but the crown is thinner, but my watch has a fish insignia on the crown so it is thicker.?

Lovely letter from Mr Homberger - that is indeed special!

As mentioned before, the movement is more than likely Cal 8541 or any one of the Cal 85xx variations, which came with or without date.
