No doubt there are going to be a number of these in members hands over the next couple of weeks. Congrats to you KYCF for acquiring this stunning LE Pilot.
The question now... are there two different casebacks being produced. SC's has engraved shading around the boy & stars. This one does not. Both appear to come from Hong Kong. The early prototype I tried on had shading, Pauline's did not. As more are revealed, it will be interesting to see what emerges.

Hello Andy! First impression as follows:
(1)Appealing to the ladies as well...because of the Brown and Mid-night blue color combination; the flying star on the rear end of the second hand; the applied index (Triangle at 12 o'clock position, the ones at 3, 6, 9 position) making this watch a bit more 3-dimensional; most importantly, the tranditional Saint-Ex fonts.
(2)As compared to the original Mark XVII, the "elongated" tips of the hour and minute hands are stunning...very elegant.
(3)I really love the back engraving...LE PETIT PRINCE is huge!
(4)I was expected the sun-ray reflection pattern on the midnight blue dial, but it is not as obvious as those in other upscale models.
(5)The Calfskin strap is quite soft...whether this is a good thing or what...you decide.
Finally, although it is 41mm in diameter, it doesn't look that small...which is a good thing to me and I've tried it wearing suit...and it looks great!

MARK XVII vs LPP MARK XVII
Do have a look at the color combination of the hour and minute hands, and the dial, and you will see why this LPP Mark XVII has given us a hint of elegance and created the impression that both hands are longer. Smart!
Great watch SC, congrats, IWC are doing some great, simple watches of late and this is such a nice example!
Hopefully we see one down-under some time in the next few months so I can see one in the flesh.

Not sure about the original Mark XVII, this LPP version glows in the dark, with the luminous substance placed at the applied index at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions.

Lume is same on original XVII, navigation points as well as hour/minute hands.
Question: I have read that the numbers are applied. It is clear that the navigation pionts and the triangle/dots are, but can you tell if the remaining numbers are painted or applied. The prototype I tried on looked like the numbers had a slight bit of height to them. Your opinion please.

Hello Andy, the numbers are PRINTED, not applied. BT manager told me that it was their original plan to have applied numbers too, but they gave up due to some considerations which I didn't follow up on that. Maybe it is a cost issue or more likely a technical issue, or both. Thanks for your questions and info. Much appreciated.
