So- this bothers me. In the market for the iw389001, but nowhere can I find the materials used, not officially anyway. Third party sources say 'steel' caseback, others titanium. No info on IWC website (why the heck not?). Anyone can show me where I can find exact details on the watch before I spend 10k? The jeweler told me that it has an upgraded ETA movement..so they're no real help either.

it is enough to check on this forum the section " collection" and you'll find the info you are looking for................In any case the case is in ceramic and the caseback is stainless steel. Where have you find that the watch is in titanium?????Further the mov. is not upgraded ETA mov, but an inhouse new mov.89361

Afraid not Giuliano. For one, the pushers and crown should at least be of titanium, which is mentioned nowhere. Further, what kind of ceramic? What kind of Luminious material is used on the hands? The movement CAL89361 is clearly stated indeed (which is great!) but I mentioned it to show that I cannot rely on what the folks in the store tell me.
It is all over the internet (3rd party sites) that the caseback is also made of titanium. Perhaps they mix up the Big Pilot with the Chronograph, as this site clearly mentions that the Big Pilot has a titanium caseback.
Anyway I think it's very remarkable that the information is so limited. I had a chance to flip through the manual (which is also on this site) but again nowhere are the materials used mentioned. Only the generic table stating the scratch resistance/breaking/weight for every single material (also note the different ceramics).

The case of the Ref.3890 Pilot’s Watch Chronograph TopGun is made of black ceramic (zirconium oxide).
Accordingly, the housing ring and bottom ring are made of this material.
The inner housing and the floor are made of titanium grade5. They primarily provide water resistance
