    Hi, everyone:

IWC newbie in here! And I have a situation in here.

Here I purchased a watch from a dealer in FL. What I purchased from the dealer was IW500705. It took a couple days but the dealer told me that the watch is from Europe. The watch and box, paper will be shipped separately. I was fine with it. I waited patiently for its arrival. I was so excited when I received it in the early morning from Fedex; however, it looked differently from the back because there are some obvious difference between those 2 models by looking at the back through the sapphire.

I talked with the dealer that I received a IW500107 instead of IW500705. He promptly sent me a return shipping label on the day I received it. Before the watch is returned, he received the paper and box. He called and told me that the card in the box says it is a IW500705, asking me whether I made a mistake about the watch and how I could prove it.

I am first time IWC newbie. I don't want to say something before did a little research and comments from the experts from here. Here I attached an image of the back of the watch. Please help me to verify it!

    Thanks,

The picture shows the back of a Reference 5001, the predecessor of the 5007. While the dials may look very similar, the caliber is completely different and the strap does not feature the curved integration on the 5001.
So the papers definitely do not match the watch, and you did not receive the watch you paid for. You should return it. Good luck!

Yes its an IW500107, there are some differences.
The winding rotator has 3 closed legs (3x2 paralell bars), teh decoration is different, just search for some pictures in teh web.

Its a nice watch, when the price was Ok, there should not be a big fiffference in the watch. Both looks nice. technicall (and probably pricewise there was no big difference).

As modifications of in watch making are normally production-price driven, maybe the older one could be the better one (Sorry I am "pocket watcher", and not price/technology specialist of modern movements)

This could be of interest too

    regards
