I love big pilot. I can't help it.
These days, one is just spoilt with choices. I mean, just look at the range of Pilot watches being offered. There's something for everyone.
I'm one of those snobs, I suppose. It has to have a centre-second, must have a faraday cage, so one and so forth. No complications. Anything that doesn't say 'toolwatch' is as good as committing a horological mortal sin.
And just like any other enthusiast, always looking around the corner for something new.
My wife (who is a Portugieser fan) and I swing by the local boutique in Abu Dhabi just to check out the latest arrival of the BP 7 days Heritage.

What a handsome piece. Looks better in person than any pictures I've seen online. Catalogue was printed on recycled paper, so I was not feeling it until I held it in my hands.
Tried it on, light as a feather. I've been wearing an IW500901 for the past 3 years or so on almost a daily basis. My mind is already playing tricks on me.

Something shinny at the corner caught my eye. May I have a look, I asked.
It was an Annual Calender Spitfire BP. Looks spectacular in person and with an open caseback showcasing the new 52xxx calibre. I take back what I said about having no complications.
That just open doors for more possibilities. Ahmad and I chat about the latest SIHH releases, particularly the BP Annual Calender. If the Spitfire already looks this good, imagine...

While I ponder the future prospect of a new BP in the near future, I leave you with a shot of the Chinese New Year deco in the boutique, which I must say, its a doggone good time to be an IWC fan!
(A big thank you goes out to Ahmad and Tariq in the IWC Galleria, Abu Dhabi for their time!)
