Hi! New to the forum (and IWC)! I've taken a keen interest in midsize
Portuguese (3531) in stainless steel and was hoping some forum members could
enlighten me... It looks the 3531 has a 35-36mm case with a lug width of 18mm.
Does it share it with any other midsize models? Was it offered with a metal
bracelet? If not, does anyone know if a metal bracelet from another model can
be fitted to it? I believe someone posted a pic in a much older thread but
it's not uploading on my computer and I was hoping for some details. I live
in muggy Georgia and gave up on leather straps since they don't last too long
in these humidity. Thanks in advance!

Hi, first of all welcome ! The midsize is a really handsome watch with that
script logo etc. A true classic in my opinion! Please post some pictures!

With regard to bracelets: all I know is that no Portuguese was ever made with
    a metal bracelet, fit
will be nearly impossible with other watches (say Pilots' watches) given the
shape of the case and the fact that the bracelet's end-pieces need to fit
    exactly.

If I recall right somebody once put a Milanese (mesh) bracelet with straight
spring bars on a Portuguese, but that was a modern Port Automatic (large
case). Such a Milanese bracelet might be available for your lug width from a
ladies model??!!!! Ask a dealer, they can figure out with a dealer book for
    you.

    Regards, Bob

A shell cordovan strap may work.

Shell Cordovan has been my go-to strap material for years but I was actually
more interested in a metal bracelet for the 3531

I think the Milanaise bracelet for the Portofino Midsize models would fit.
They also have 18 mm lug width. The bracelet is available in four different
    lengths (from XXS to XL).
