I sent in my IWC 3706 Pilot Chronograph for a complete service/restoration.

Upon its return I found that IWC changed the baton hands to the sword style hands on the dial.

I am interested in the community's thoughts, would you keep the sword hands or should it be kept original?

I would request the original hands version for this model.

Oops! That's absolutely a no go!
That looks like the cheapest marriage and fake now.
    Please get back the original.
I can't believe, IWC has done this.

I think I would also ask them to replace those swords hands with the originals for this flieger. It always bugs me when things are not kept in their original condition.

Moreover, if one day you'll have to sell it for some reasons, it might be a hard sell with those hands.

Thanks everyone. IWC agreed and they are replacing the hands.

Clearly a mistake - probably by the stores/spares master in picking the parts. Can't blame the watchmaker who put them on - they can't be expected to know each and every model and hand combination. The watchmaker "orders" the parts on the system (and here it's unlikely he was shown/given an option to chose other hands - so most probably it happened then as I say at parts picking station.

IWC will correct it and it will retain its original beauty!

What about the crown? Do you still have the fish crown? I think there is a huge pile of fish crowns in someone's office in Schaffhausen. My Aquatimer lost its fish crown a couple of years ago.
