Hi Forum,
i have a 3706 pilots chronograph here that has only the serial number engraved on the case back, no "Fliegerchronograph" or anything like this. The watch is sure an IWC piece but as said no engravings. Has anybody seen a similar watch ?

Would check case number for early production.

Looks like your caseback has been ground down some considerable depth. See how the circle is closer to the case opening depressions, compared to the picture attached!
Also, see how shallow the serial number is.
Perhaps this was done to remove deep scratches?

Very intensive scratches or an deeply engraved name, etc. ?!
So, the inner case back side with the ref. number would be the next step.
Because the UTC hast the same case and case back ?!

Next time when passing by Schaffhausen i will ask if they have details.

My guess is the case back was engraved and a previous owner polished it off..
