    Hello dear IWC Forum.

Although I have been looking into this forum for years, this is the first time I'm actually making a post. Well what's the reason?
I have been a big IWC fan for many years - I would not call myself a collector as, until now, I have only had one watch-the IWC GST rattrappante 3715 which I've been wearing day and night for the last ten years. The watch is great and highly suits my very casual lifestyle. I wear suits for weddings and funerals only ;-)

Now one IWC model which has always fascinated me is the Portuguese perpetual calendar. Always wanted one, thought it would be too flashy for me and let the idea go. I'll make it short: Weekend trip to Milano, came back with the Pisa Perpetual Calendar 5021-17, a limited edition of 20!!
I am so happy and at the same time nearly afraid to wear it, so it doesn't get scratched- the previous owner was a collector.

I need some help from other PPPC owners- I know there are several in this forum: the PPPC comes with a pin buckle - I'm afraid the watch might accidentally fall - would you recommend to upgrade the watch to a deployant clasp? Would ordering the clasp in stainless steel be a sin? the white gold ones I guess cost another small fortune. Highly appreciate your recommendations.

I'll post some good fotos a soon as I have the time.

    All the best

    Hello Carlos,
a folding clasp is always an advantage to a pin buckle as the watch stays on your arm when the clasp is (erroneously) opened. I recently dropped my Da Vinci with a pin buckle to the floor when I wanted to put it on...
I don't recommend to buy a steel folding clasp for a WG watch as steel is harder than white gold. There is a risk that you scratch the WG watch case with the steel folding clasp.

Thank you for your advice Urs. I'll go to the AD for a WG-folding clasp. I will ofcourse have to have a new leather strap. The Santoni straps look fantastic in brown - are the black ones also much nicer than the standard IWC black straps?

Carlos, indeed a grail watch - and I can only wish you well to wear it in good health.

Deployment is definitely the way to go.

Carlos, your two watches are are absolutely stunning beauties!

The Pisa is very special from design, choose your strap carefully (pattern and colour as well).

Thank you very much to you all for the kind comment. I will go for the folding clasp with a dark blue IWC strap.

And here some more photos, admittedly with a not very clean camera lens. Enjoy!

I tried to get the blue pointers on this sunny day.
