I recently bought an IWC box via Catawiki to make my IWC Aquatimer complete again (I lost my box over the years).

Now I received the lot, I doubt if it is an original box; it says "box made in china" (see photo link).

In you expert opinions, can this be correct, or is it a fraud?

    Need to see more pictures.
What else came with the box?
Cleaning cloth etc. One of the biggest tells on fake boxes is the poor quality of the cushion.

The only way to be sure of getting genuine is to purchase from IWC Authorised Dealers.

Looks rather faky to me. But the real boxes are not the highest class anyway. Cost cutting takes place anywhere.

For what it's worth, the cushion is missing it's inner part. It should have a smaller one that it slides over.

It appears to be real, those boxes are now currently marked made in China. As Mark said, it is missing the inner cushion piece.

thanks for all comments, I realized it misses the inner cushion. Some assurance that it is marked 'Made in China'nowadays. I'm in contact with the seller now to discuss the origin of this case.

UPDATE: I met with te seller today, and he took an older box with him to compare (one that says IWC Schaffhausen - Switzerland on top). It is completely comparable, but the newer boxer are indeed produced in China (it therefor explicitly says "box made in China". The interior of the older boxes are off-white, this newer version is more white. He convinced me, thanks to your comments as well.
