Last week, I was extremely happy to receive my new addition to my pocketwatch collection, my second cal Jones. My first is an early one with serial 8367.
But some time ago I saw a Jones in an auction, serial 964 ! I looked in the book F.A. Jones by David Seyffer, Thomas König and Alan Myers and learned only 16 watches with a serial number between 500 and 1000 were known until that day.
The dial was in very good condition ( only 1 small hairline ) and the case was almost like it was made 10 years ago.
So this had to be my new watch. The auction was on my birthday, another good sign ;)
So I bought it, took it in possession during our last collectors meeting and I still feel very fortunate to own this piece of IWC history.
