Did you guys notice the Phillips sale? Mostly Patek en R brought great prices but I noticed a aquatimer 1812 for 20.000 cfh and a jubilee 5441 SS at 19.000 so I guess they are more and more appreciated!
as a matter of fact I had a slightly different impression from the important auction on last Sunday in Geneva... bit surprised to realize that some real sought-after vintage ingenieurs for example remained unsold...similarly a gorgeous minute repeater at an unbeatable offered price...other watches like the AT VC in Pt or a Da Vinchi of the first generations achieved quite modest results... was wondering what others actually think on that... greetings, yitzhak
Hi Martijn, i think the Phillips catalogue says it was a ref 325 , german edition, so not a 5441 ! That means the Aquatimer sold for more than a ref 325....... from a 57 piece edition.
Hi Simius , how/why do the unsold Phillips pieces end up at the antiquorum after sale shop. Are they in the same company group ?
Don't forget that these results are inclusive of 25% buyer's premium. A good result for a very crisp black dial 812 Aquatimer. A really quite POOR result by Phillips for an almost new-old-stock last series 325... Best, Ian
haven't seen the watch personally, but someone must have been very lucky to get a 'missing link' series Portuguese, 1 out of 57, at this bargain price....
