Hi, I have a 3713 which I haven't worn in ages and now I cannot get it to restart. Can someone please confirm the correct procedure for winding?

    Thanks dylan

Unscrew the crown, anti-clockwise. When it pops out just a bit proceed to wind normally in a clockwise direction. Wind it approximately 50 revolution to get a full charge to the mainspring.

Thanks Bill. I've tried that previously (30 times) with no success - tried it this time after posting my earlier message and then wore it, things started moving again but have now stopped. I'll try winding it some more and then wear it for a day or so and see if that does it.

Your Doppel may have need of a spa visit to SH or have a competent watchmaker take a look. The lubricants may have dried out. The watchmaker will be able to tell you if the mainspring needs replacing, but I am betting the lubricants are the first thing to ask about.
