Today I purchased a lovely silver half hunter pocket watch with a peerless movement could you please help me identify the cal?
Serial number in the 279000 range which I believe puts it at around 1902?

Could it be a early 57 cal? It is Savonette with the winder at 3 and sub dial at 6. Measures 41mm or 18 lignes.
Any help would be gratefully received.
The 279000 range covers 1902 and 1903. Can you give us the correct seriam number ? That would help.

Didn't think it would be relevant whole serial number is 279972.

bingo, you found it . Indeed the cal 56 came in different versions.
