    IWC addiction

For a few years I consider myself an IWC fan, although I don’t post very often.
I regularly visit the site to read or comment an various items, witch I enjoy very much. What I‘d like to know from you (my fellow forum visitors) is how much time you spend weekly at the forum. To kick of I have to admit that I look daily at least ones on the site (to quickly open photo’s and read the latest posts). In weekends some more, but I consider it to be a hobby. So weekly perhaps an our or two… Wondering if I am normal, give your reactions as how much time you spend.
    I’m curious at the responds.
    cheers

    A sound little bit addicted

You and me being Dutch, looking at the forum on the 5th of May at mid-afternoon says it all. OK, it is windy and not too warm. For the non-Dutch: we celebrate "Liberation Day", on the day the Second World War ended in the Netherlands in 1945, so now 65 years ago.

At work, where some colleagues may go out for a smoke once in a while, I just peek at the forum a few times a day, for not more than a minute. Looking at pictures is difficult there, being very slow, so I save that for home. Very seldom I write a small comment.

At home, I look regularly if something is going on, reading almost everything. The first post of a thread is the most interesting most of the time, the reactions are often simple, like "plus 1" or so. Here I write the longer comments if I feel like it. And sometimes I start a thread, for instance if I have a nice new picture. Lately I discovered other fora too, about IWC and other brands: quite interesting to broaden your view. It deepens my respect for the watches made by IWC.

All in all there is some considerable elapse time, but let's say one or two hours a day is a reasonable estimate of the time spent on watches.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Pilot's watch

Not an addiction - more a relationship....

Ladies and Gents, Yes it's true - somehow the IWC forum may vie quiet agressively for ones time. Yet, we should look towards the reason it does so - to fully understand this. For, if any of you are like me, it's the common passion and rewarding moments no matter how fleeting that one experiences here - that brings us back again time after time.

Our love of fine mechanical timepieces, and a common desire to learn and appreciate more -drives the IWC forum, and it's membership. I came to this forum, looking for some advise - and I got in return to a single posting, an opening to a wealth of relationships - and I am grateful for that.

So go yeah forth and post - show the photos and cherish the relationship you build here.

Best regards from from The Netherlands

I echo some of Mark's sentiments.....

I came here as a student wishing to learn more about IWC watches (which is ongoing) and found a community of fantastic men and women. I check in multiple times every day. I also think that this is the best moderated forum in which I have participated. I have total respect and admiration for the job Michael does in keeping this forum THE place to share about the International Watch Company. My goal is to travel enough to meet great folks like Roberto (see "Return from the Eternal City") in each of your home countries...or states.

    Best regards,'
    Jim
