Hello esteemed IWC Forum friends, I recently well in July bought a beautiful IWC Portuguese Chronograph IW371445.

Now the guarantee card did not come with the serial number preprinted, rather the AD had to write it on the card. Is this normal? I see on google that alot of them have pre-printed serial numbers. It was bought 2014 July Brand New from a Major AD in the UK, Watches of Switzerland.

    Thank you in advance.

Most of my Guarantee cards are as you describe. Some are entirely blank. Your authorized IWC AD has the record of your purchase as well.

Congratulations on your Portugieser Chrono. Wear it in good health.

    Congrats on a great acquisition.

Same for me. The Guarantee Card has the serial number written by the AD on it. So no need to worry.

As the guys say - par for the course!

Enjoy your timepiece - and lets see a wristshot when possible.

All the guarantee cards I have are written from the AD or even the IWC Boutiques.

    Yes, wristshots are always welcome.

    Cheers Chris

    Hi all,

I have recently purchased an 3714-45 from a well established and reputable used watch dealer in central London. I am concerned about the authenticity of my watch and the warranty card which does not have a hologram at all.

I became concerned when I inspected the documents that came with the 'unworn' but used watch and realized that the instruction manual is from an Portugieser Automatic rather than a Chronograph like mine - this got me worried!!

I love this watch an will be severely dissapointed if it turns out that it is not genuine.

Please help me to confirm that a) the watch is genuine and b) the warranty card is genuine.

Thanks in advance for you help!!

I have a 3777 with the same style of warranty card and also others with the hologram style. I do not think this is any indication of it not being genuine.
Your 3714 in my eyes is the real thing so personally I would not worry. If you are concerned then take it to another AD and get them to check.
