I'm thinking of buying a IWC Ingenieur 1832 SL, as I quite like the Genta
models.
Nevertheless I'm not extremely experienced regarding this specific model.
Before buying it, I wanted to check if maybe someone can spot something odd (I
want to avoid buying a Frankenstein watch). As well, what is a reasonable
price range for such a watch?

Looks like the Case and especially the bracelet have been polished.
If at all possible, try and see the watch in person to gain an impression on
the condition.

what the seller is prepared to accept!

yes, the watch is most probably polished. As it looks in mint condition and
was serviced twice during the last 30 years.
As I'm not able to see the watch in person. I have my small collection of
vintage watches, nevertheless I tend to use them from time to time.
Hence; do you know the lug to lug distance of this particular model (was not
able to find it anywhere; just to know if it would be a fit for my 16.5cm
wrist)?
As well; there were different color vsristion of the 1832. Is the white one
with grey date particular rare (I know that less than 1000 of all 1832 were
produced, nevertheless was not able to find many in white/grey).

One of the best IWCs ever!
It looks great, must be polished, but I'd be particularly careful that it is
not a 'converted' version: from originally a quartz model to a mechanical one.
And I don't mean converted by IWC but aftermarket, so the case number will
correspond to a quartz. That certainly happened given the significant
difference in value... search
the forum archives on that topic, must be documented somewhere!?
And of course a certificate from IWC (extract from the ledger) gives
sufficient certainty!
