Currently, in Switzerland we have the www.tortour.com/ taking place. It is a proper bike race, which requires a minimum training of 2000 kilometres. TORTOUR is the biggest multiday nonstop ultra-cycling event in the world. The CHALLENGE (approximately 550 kilometers) is a shorter race format of the TORTOUR, starting and finishing in Schaffhausen. It takes solo riders and teams between 18 and 24 hours to complete the route. The CHALLENGE is designed for professionals and pro amateurs, teams, companies and solo bikers. Going on day and night, the race is the ultimate challenge for racers and the crew.
The CEO of IWC is taking part for the second time, and IWC has in total 7 teams together with Laureus.
There are also two well known forum members, collectors taking part and supporting Laureus ; Andrew Thomas and Evan Nanos.
Even former pro cyclist Miguel Indurain is supporting the event.

Andrew, what's the age limit there?
Next year I'll turn 50 and have to to something more to reduce my belly. Looks rather motivating there.
Tonny thanks for sharing!

To all those that think they look a bit like the Michelin Man, but are otherwise healthy, there is a way to look slimmer that probably is easier, less of a torture, and far more effective than a one time a year Tortour.

1. Eat about half what you are used to. Foremost, lose the easy and obvious fat, sugar and salt, focus on vegetables and fruits, without skipping the meat, fish, dairy, potatoes etc.
2. Move around in a serious way for about half an hour to an hour a day, five days a week. Like, a brisk walk, bike ride or swim. You can time this effort neatly with your chronograph (to stay on topic).
3. Slightly off topic: quit smoking, minimize the alcohol, like not drinking at least five days a week.

The difficult part is not the actions themselves, unlike with the Tortour, but the discipline to persevere for years to come. Trust me, it works, look at me.

Kind regards,
Paul
