Earlier this year I had the chance to buy my biggest IWC - the IWC Mark XVI Dealers Wall Clock.

Here it is sitting proudly in the Vorraum of my house.

That's a great clock Andrew, enjoy looking at it, since wearing it would be a bit hard :-)

    Kind regards,

Andrew, is that date window for real? I can image and we see all sorts of large clocks most, with small batery powered movements in them - but to be honest, I've never seen a wall clcok with a DATE window in it!

If real and actually runs (and it shows 23 - todays date, so I believe it is) whats the secret behind it? Some real IWC clockwork? a second date wheel and batery clock?

Have you taken a peek into the inside?

    Cheers
    Mark

Actually, the post from Andrew is from August and thus it's a pure coincidence that the date corresponds :-)

    Kind regards,

IWC wall clocks are really great. I have the Ingenieur wall clock and I'm very happy with this massive piece of steel. Here is the big clock with my little girl ;-)

Lovely picture indeed! By the way, what did your daughter think of the Ingenieur on her wrist?

Your daughter is endearingly priceless Norbert !

great wall clocks everyone - one dealer refuses to sell me the Mark XVI one. It hangs in full view in a glass display for all to see. I suppose it is no bad thing - for such beauties can then be meant for all to enjoy. sigh.

Dave --about 7 or 8 years ago IWC commissioned these clocks, and also Ref. 3227 Ingenieur ones, for dealers. There was some surplus which IWC offered via this forum to interested collectors. I'm afraid they're all long gone now, and they're occasionally on the secondary market.

My Ingenieur clock is in my office, and you'll find posts about these clocks in the archives. One enterprising forum member even added seconds to his!
