    Friends,

it recently happened to me, to alight upon something I couldn’t resist to take home.

Some days ago, I went with a friend of mine to see a watch shop located in my home town and, after some talk with the owner, it was unavoidable to tell him about my passion for IWC.

He showed me a couple of nice IWC vintage watches, which I really enjoyed to see (one was 34mm and it was great) but then, as we moved towards another room, my attention was immediately captured by something really new to my eyes.

This is it, I saw it, I’ve quickly negotiated for the price (something like the famous offer you can’t refuse) and brought it home.

Now, I’m ready to show it to you. Actually, I don’t even know what I’m going to do with this but it was too cute to let it go!

This is the perfect pendant for a Portuguese Jubilee, ref. 5441, it would be great to have one of those beauties…

… Hey, but, wait a second, I do have one!

Oops! Where’s the watch? Now I remember! Getting prepared for my holidays, I’ve already brought it to my bank and stored it into the safe, along with all the rest of my watches. The only one will remain outside is my new purchase which is coming tomorrow but, sorry twice, it’s not an IWC.

I hope you liked the pictures, I’m getting a little better, don’t you think? Please, don’t answer… LOL

    Thank you for your attention.

Nice, very nice. The story of the find, the find itself and of course that watchor rather the watch from that box!

Now Roberto, I of course have 2 suggestions to make -

    1) you could consider to help me out of the Pure Classic / Jubilee predicament by offering to allow me to wear that watch of yours during your vacation - to see if I'd consider it a keeper.
    2) that beautiful stand calls for a solution in the form of an original 125 year old Gold IWC pocket watch nicely positioned on it - dead center on that black enamel base. Class !

Ciao my friend, enjoy the vacations - thy shalt be missed!

Roberto, perhaps you would consider selling the stand to me as it would be a great place to display my BP DFB if I ever take it off my wrist. LOL

Enjoy your vacation my friend and be safe.

    Regards,
    Kevin

Actually, I have a different suggestion. Roberto, there were three different models to celebrate IWC's 125th anniversary. You need all three now.

One is the Jubilee Portugieser, of course.

The second is a rare model for the Japanese market.

The third --well, the first really-- is Il Destriero Scafusia.

Mark, you're a globetrotter but you never come to visit the eternal city. If you came... :)

My vacations are going to start not so soon after all and you know where I'm going.

This display is made of plastic, brass (maybe), the inner part is black velvet.

You know I like the pure classic, we think the same about the watches are keeping your mind busy these days.

I like pw, I don't ask for much, considering my grail pw a classic frack uhr from the 70's.

Thank you for your generous comment.

    Cheers my friend!

Thank you Kevin! It was great meeting you, can't wait to do it again! :)

Michael, you're definitely over-evaluating this poor, naive IWC fan :) and this is for point 3.

Point 2. Portuguese chronograph Tribute to Japan? Ingenieur 3227 Ken Noguchi Sherpa?

    This is fun! :)

    Wow Michael!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I honestly say I've never heard of it.

I had the chance to tell you already I think you read minds. The watch I mentioned before (the 34mm) was actually a Portofino ref. 2533, with a touching in-house movement.

Portofinos are growing on me, more and more, that's a challenge I won't miss! This 2010-004 is very intriguing! Thank you Michael!

@Clemens. If you confirm you're not scared to see the results of my photo coverage, I'll do! LOL

Thank you everybody, dear friends, except Argiris, that's obvious... LOL!

I'm open arms, ready to welcome your ref. 325 with Portuguese custom puncture. I send you my address, THEN, I will send you my display stand... LOL!
