I am relatively new to the world of watches without quartz.  I am looking at purchasing a vintage IWC and was wanting some input regarding the authenticity of this watch and possible time frame.  From my research it looks like this was probably originally made in the 1960s.  One detail that sticks out to me is that the hands are non-luminous, but perhaps this model is supposed to be like this.  /site_media/ckeditor_images/33eac2074dbb28034489377efde56143.jpg/site_media/ckeditor_images/d609781ea317d3621991daa982bb9d71.jpg/site_media/ckeditor_images/4c277cea0f600c8ebdf3599212c653fa.jpg

Welcome to the forum. It looks like a nice watch you have found. The serial numbers show that the movement was made in 1971 and the case between 1969 and 1972. I don't know about the lumination of the hands.

Enjoy the hunt for your first IWC.

Thanks for the reply.  In your opinion is this watch most likely all original, meaning it doesn't have two previously separate watches pieced together?  Is there any real way to tell besides checking the serial numbers as you did?  By the way, where are you able to check IWC serial numbers?

I think the watch is original. I guess the only way to know for sure is to get a certificate of authenticity from IWC. That will cost you 300 CHF.
To check the serial numbers google DateYourIWC and you will find Marco Schönenberger’s excellent utility.
