Although I wearing the CF3 for the upcoming 4th of July weekend, the 3711, back from a spa treatment, is on my desk. I admire it each day too, but getting the wrist time it deserves.
Thank you Chris. The strap is Bonetto Cinturini, it's actually very similar in looks as the OEM ref. 3231 strap, but it's a little thicker and it balances the head a bit better. For these summer days, it's a little better option than the OEM
I'm sure that this is the most professional looking watch photo that I've ever taken. More luck than skill went into this one :)
My love affair with this watch started in the IWC boutique in Venice last summer. It really made an impression. I saw it again in London a month later, but I couldn't reconcile paying so much more for it in London than what it had been offered to me for in Venice (which was due to the fact that the Euro was doing very poorly against the US dollar at the time, while the British Pound was still very strong). I got back to Canada and mentioned to an AD that I'd probably be interested if he could get one, but I thought it was unlikely that we'd see the boutique-only Portuguese Digital Date-Month in Canada (since we don't have a boutique). Just a few days before my birthday I received a call telling me that he had the watch. I took it as an omen and pulled the trigger. I've really enjoyed it ever since and it continues to get far more than it's fair share of wrist time.
