Greetings to all fellow forummers.
Last week I visited Salzburg, Austria to relax with my family. It's a trip we
make every year as it's one of our favourite cities. This trip turned out to
be more special due to a small discovery. Wondering through the streets of
Salzburg, we passed an Antique shop (one I been been past many times)....this
year we decided to go in.
At the back of the shop was a small glass cabinet hanging on the wall. Within
this were approx 10 pocket watches and only 1 was an IWC. We were immediately
interested in this beautiful pocketwatch. It was not in perfect condition
(ticks along fine) but nevertheless a very interesting piece. We ended up
buying it as my son (9 years old) wouldn't let me leave without it....he loves
it and has now claimed it.
On returning to Zurich we found out the case is from 1917 and the movement
1925 approx.Whether we get it tidied up or leave it as it is will be decided
in the near future but in anycase it was such a great experience with my son.
.....planning my next trip to Salzburg early next year.
Thanks for looking.
