    Hi,

i have this fantastic pocket watch with cal. 77. But interestingly, they have
    no serial number anywhere...

    How is that possible?

    0Regards Petr

The movement number is clearly visible on the picture.

    Greetings Martin

Strange indeed. I can see what appears to be the number 1 where the movement
number would normally be - not sure why it is only the one digit.

Another possibility that this is a so called school watch. These watches were
used for the training of watchmakers.

The watch school of Solothurn used IWC calibers.

Often a movement number was not present on the ebauches.

    Adrian,

Adrian pointed to the most probably usage of this movement.

I have an ebauche in collection, a cal. 67 and all parts for a working
    movement.

Rare to find such a full set with hand written papers for the parts.

Could be interesting for some remaining vintage collectors on this forum ?!

    Regards

    Dear Petr and Adrian

I'm in doubt, whether this a school watch for several reasons. But as the
first pics shows the watch in a case: Could you, Petr, please provide a pic of
the dial. School watches showed the name of the school on the dial.

    Best regards

    Th. Koenig
