have just purchased the 7005 love the watch but looking at some images online. In some pictures the face looks very white. But to the eye mine looks an off white. What colour should it resemble.

Assuming you have a "white" dial 5007: officially, according to the catalogue of this site, the colour is called "silver-plated". I guess it is meant to have a slight metallic shine, not being that very white. I hope you like it.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Hello Jamie and welcome to the forum. I believe you may have purchased a 5007 rather than a 7005. In that case the dial is silver-plated, not white - although in some images it could appear to be white. We do love photos here so please post some if you get a chance.

    Hello Paul
I see we are answering the question at the same time. I believe the dials are actually silver-plated and not just silver-plated "coloured". The finish on the dials is almost a flat metallic finish, I am not sure how exactly it is done.

    Hi Jamie,

I don't have 5007, however I own 5001. I believe that the dial colour is the same on those two. It's silver plated, but more resembles white than actual silver. Although, it is not white at all. Doesn't matter which angle or light you look at it. Kinda in between ;).
Any way, it is a great watch!

    Enjoy

Maybe this thread can instigate an article on dials, how they are made, how the colour is put onto them. The catalogue here mentions "dial colour: silver-plated", which indeed is not a colour really, but rather a process. Could this process lead to other colours, like ardoise? There, the metallic-like sunburst pattern comes into play, otherwise it would be called gray.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I just got the 7005 with the "white" face and it only looks white under sun light. I believe because of the brightness of daylight you are not able to notice it and it will pass as white. If you are inside and the lighting is less intense you can notice the silver touch in it. That's my experience.
